Evelyn Valdirio (1964)
This Venezuelan artist has lived in the United States for many years,
commencing with Washington, D.C. where she received her Bachelor of Arts
degree form Catholic University.
She has been a resident of Florida since 1993, where she has worked full
time in her artistic career. She has traveled many international art fairs
and has exhibited throughout Latin America and Europe.
Her images juxtapose realities and deal with often troubling themes, such
as justice versus injustice, democracy versus despotism, capitalism versus
freedom. She has also developed thematic works, such as her “Homage
to Rimbaud,” where pain is always confronted with pleasure and beauty
with its own ephemeral passing.
